A Lifelong Background
in Art and Design

 

Art has been a constant throughout Chelsea’s life. Long before building a career in tattooing, she was working in illustration, print and interactive media, and other independent creative projects – developing a strong foundation in drawing, composition, and visual storytelling.

Those design skills continue to shape how each tattoo is approached today. Careful attention is given not only to the idea behind a tattoo, but also to how it will sit on the body, read clearly, and age well over time.

 

Traditional Training and Craft

 

Professional tattoo training came through a traditional apprenticeship in an established studio environment under highly regarded artists. The training was intensive and structured, emphasizing discipline, technical precision, and a deep respect for the craft of tattooing.

More than two decades later, that training still informs the work today – thoughtful preparation, strong execution, and a commitment to doing things properly.

 

Design That Serves the Client

 

Whether refining a client’s reference or developing a custom concept, the design process is approached with attention and discipline.

A background in both traditional drawing and modern design tools allows ideas to be developed thoughtfully before and during the tattoo process. In most cases, design work is prepared ahead of time so the appointment can focus primarily on tattooing, while still allowing room to refine details together when a client arrives.

Every project is different, but the focus remains consistent – artwork that fits the body well, holds up over time, and feels personal to the client wearing it.
